The SA Leading Singore Consulting and Services Pty Ltd (SALSC), supported by Gauteng Film Commission (GFC) is proud to announce the launch of a groundbreaking 4-month skills training program aimed at empowering 8 women from around Gauteng with Film and Television skills, and to help them launch their own small film production companies.

Program Overview

This comprehensive program focuses on practical skills and real-world experience in film and television production, covering essential topics such as screenwriting, camera operation, sound, lighting, directing, production, budgeting, and editing. The curriculum also includes foundations of video production, promotional video production, social media content creation, and live streaming.

  •   Upon completion, learners will receive an accredited certification (SAQA ID 117536, MICTSETA Film, Television, and Video Production, Level 4, Credits 15)
  •  PracticalExperienceandcreatea50-minutedocumentary,podcast,promovideo,andevent coverage (live streaming) for work experience and profile building.
  •   Additionaltrainingcoursesinentrepreneurshipandfinance
  •   Monthly Stipend for attendance, and their portfolios will be assessed and moderated for qualification

The program aims to empower women in the film and television industry, equip them with film production knowledge and skills, ensure specialist competence among them, train beneficiaries to become employable, or equip them to be independent. The project will also address the issue of gender inequality and create opportunities for women to claim their space within the film and television industry, helping women gain access to the film market.

This program will not only equip women with the necessary skills but also provide them with the confidence to succeed in a male-dominated industry.”

The project is expected to have a positive impact on the community, promoting economic growth and development by empowering women in the film industry. SALSC will also employ 5 SMMEs to provide services during the project, further contributing to the local economy.

Eligibility Criteria and Application Process

To participate in the program, female candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • South African citizen
  • Age 18-40
  • Completed Matric
  • Certified ID Copy
  • Certified Company Registration Certificate (optional)
  • Proof of Bank Account
  • Proof of Residential Address
  • Knowledge in Film and Television production and possession of a film script
