Why Gauteng force? Because Gauteng is known as the melting port of culture and different backgrounds. Not only across SA, but across the continent
When individuals travel from across the continent from countries like Nigeria, Kenya, Cameroon, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, they explore and make a livelihood and chase possibilities.
Because of this, it has become a place for melting points and ideas. It is a place where a lot of trends originate within the fashion, music, culture, sports and film areas.
Gauteng has become a force – a force that influences South Africa, and the rest of the continent
Filming is a medium that captures all this, and leaders in this industry enable us to not only have a grasp, but to have deep appreciation of the city of gold and lights

A famed South African actress and producer, beloved for her role as Mamokete Khuse on local hit Rhythm City, her decades-long career is a true testament to her incredible artistic ability. From local phenoms Gomora and Queen Sono, to international blockbusters like Black Panther, this award-winning filmmaker is a respected figure amongst the film and television community.

Thembi Nyandeni
Starting her showbiz career as a dancer with the group Ipi Ntombi, she toured throughout Europe, North America and Australia to critical acclaim. Upon her return home, she became an actress and fan favorite in roles like Mkabayi Zungu on Isibaya and Selina Khumba in Zone 14. Currently appearing on Uzalo, her career continues to flourish in leaps and bounds.

A playwright, actor and gender-based violence activist, this icon of the South African film and stage scene holds decades of experience under his belt. Though renowned for appearing in local television series such as Generations and Scandal!, this industry veteran has also appeared in many films and stages internationally. Adding to his gravitas, he founded his own community empowerment project, The Sello Maake KaNcube Foundation.

A series producer on The River, one of South Africa’s most highly merited shows, and a creative producer on Legacy, his career path continues to rise as he helps forge the path for local filmmakers in the larger arenas.

The Durban-born manager of Black Seed Film Hubs, she got her start working as a freelancer on the production teams of format programmes like MasterChef SA, SA’s Got Talent, Class Act, Hopeville and various commercials. She eventually found her feet in the growing world of digital and new media, and now has over 10 years of experience in online convergence of content, with 5 of those years being in senior management roles.
