Script Evaluation Criteria
The Gauteng Film Commission evaluates all applications for development funding utilising the following criteria:
- A story concept that is original, engaging and promises new insight into an idea, historical or current event or argument.
- Display an understanding of screenplay structure including climaxes and reversals.
- Applicant will be assessed on the detail provided about their intended market beyond generalities.
- A statement of intent that differentiates this story concept from others.
- Subject matter that promotes sexual violence or exploitation, or depicts people in a demeaning, or negative stereotypical manner will be disqualified.
