Weldun Media in association with National Film & Video Foundation and Gauteng Film Commission, reveal their limited-short series teaser for ‘Four Walls’ ahead of international premieres at North East Film (NEIFF) and the Buenos Aires International Web Series (BUEIFF) Festivals in November 2022 and June 2023 respectively.

The teaser opens with Grootman (Khulu Skenjana) and Dice (Jeff Jackson) sitting across from one another in Grace’s (Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa) house, Grootman with a gun in hand and Dice in tears appearing destabilized and in emotional distress. Scenes following the cash-in-transit robbery gone wrong make for a menacing, gripping preview of the limited-short series written and directed by Kgosana Monchusi (“A Safe Bet”, “Opus”) Juvaiś Dunn and Menzi Mzimela.

On the captivating visuals, Juvaiś Dunn (Writer, Director, Producer) says, “our main aim was to create an entertaining series in a new format that conveys a powerful message about certain social issues within our country.”

As ‘Four Walls’ gears up to premiere at NEIFF 2022 in November, Menzi Mzimela (Writer, Director, Editor) adds that “it’s a great opportunity to showcase honest work that touches on universal elements that the world can resonate with. It’s also a great test for foreign filmmakers to create stories that can travel, without diluting their culture and without changing their language.”

South African premiere dates for ‘Four Walls’ are set to be announced soon.
