The Gauteng Film Commission has partnered with Second Chances outreach program facilitated by Naleli M Holdings. A community outreach programme in the township of Cosmo City to give a group of vulnerable youth and reformed ex-offenders a voice to express themselves through storytelling using video production as a medium, providing a platform and opportunity for youth participation. The film screenings and workshops will take place in November and December 2018. Naleli M Holdings is establishing a distribution channel by screening locally produced content. The initiative partners with various stakeholders to ensure the involvement of Youth, Women, Sports, Church forums. The project presents an event-theme-based best South African films to contribute to Youth and Audience Development, Social Cohesion and Job Creation initiatives.
The outreach program promotes film and arts from selected venues, hosting regular film screenings and mentorship/training programmes to young people. Developing audiences by telling strong stories that people can identify with. Catering for the youth and the elderly.
This project promotes transformation in the television and film industry by working with young Africans, women and people with disabilities.
