The Gauteng Film Commission is proud to partner with Africa Rising International Film Festival (ARIFF), the event is scheduled to take place from the 26 – 29 November 2018.
The festival introduces an innovative twist to the mainstream world of Film Festivals as we know it. At the heart of the festival, is the screening of proudly African films, followed by platforms like the Live Round Table, Master Classes, and Panel Talks to help steer industry dialogue. The Festival will include a special feature, a “Live Film Masterclass”: an intense action scene shot and recorded live by industry professionals with a live audience of aspiring film-makers, who will gain an insightful overview of the filmmaking/production process.
We are in a digital age, so the festival will also have access to Virtual Reality film rooms, where short films will be screened using virtual reality glasses. Lastly, the ARIFF Networking Sessions, where stakeholders are given an opportunity to interact with different areas of the industry to pitch their ideas. Industry practitioners and key decision makers from across the globe. Host an event that becomes entrenched on the international film festival circuit and contributes to raising the profile of South Africa through the presentation of an annual festival and year-round youth and audience development activities.
