The 9th Apollo Annual Film Festival will run from the 03 to the 06 of October 2018 in Victoria West.
The Apollo Annual Film Festival is a small but well established festival which showcases documentary, features, short and animation films from South Africa. The festival is continually seeking unique and exciting stories to share with a South African audience.
We would like to invite you submit a vimeo link of your film for consideration and possible inclusion in our 2018 programme. Please note that a DVD copy of your film would need to be available for a minimum of two screenings over the dates above.
Please find attached our regulations and entry form which is required with all submissions. Should you have any other films you think would be of interest to our audiences, their submissions (each with their own entry form) would be most welcome.

About the Apollo Film Festival
Home to the Apollo Development Association (ADA); The Apollo Theatre is one of the last remaining art-deco cinemas in South Africa and based in Victoria West, Northern Cape, South Africa. This beautiful gem that possesses great socio-economic potential to transform the lives of residents within the Ubuntu Municipality and surrounding areas is now embarking on a journey of recovery after facing possible deregistration and a period of inactivity for almost a decade.
The primary focus of the ADA is to organise the Apollo Annual Film Festival (AAFF); the last film festival was held in 2008. The ADA is pleased to announce that preparations have commenced for the 9th edition of the Apollo Annual Film Festival and is scheduled for 03 to 06 October, 2018 at Victoria West.
This intimate yet significant event provides a platform for recent South African Films (2017 to 2018) of all genres to be showcased at the Festival and also promises a four day schedule packed with interesting activities; from hiking trails to fun walk/run, drum majorettes, food stalls and loads more, can’t give away everything.
All South African Shorts, Documentary and Feature Filmmakers are urged to complete the attached invitation and entry form and return it to apollofilmfestival@gmail.com. The deadline for submissions is 30 July 2018, at the close of business.
