Johannesburg, South Africa — Joburg Games Fest (JGF) is back this October to showcase the city’s vibrant game-making community and its growing role in South Africa’s creative industries.
Powered by the Fak’ugesi African Digital Innovation Festival, JGF 2025 takes place on Saturday, 11 October 2025, from 09:00 to 15:00 at Tshimologong Precinct, Braamfontein. Entry is free and open to the public.
Last year, JGF welcomed more than 400 attendees to play locally made games, join talks and workshops, and connect with creators. Monthly community meetups now draw 100+ participants, underscoring the enthusiasm of the Gauteng gaming community and the sector’s potential as part of South Africa’s creative and digital economy.
This year’s festival will feature:
